Ordering a Custom Funko Pop for Christmas: Ask Now

A custom Pop-style figure is made by hand for you, so it can't be rushed like a store order. Painted customs take weeks, not days, and every maker's queue is different. If you want one by December 25, message makers now and ask the artist whether your date works. Below: a simple plan, the 2026 holiday shipping cutoffs, what to say, and the makers whose commissions are open.

The plan

  1. Pick the character and gather references

Front, side and back images of the outfit or version you want. A maker can quote faster when the request is clear.

  2. Message two or three makers now

Say in your first message that it's a holiday gift and the date it needs to arrive. Ask if that's realistic for them before anything else.

  3. Agree on a ship date, not just a start date

Making time is the maker's call: ask the artist. Then add shipping time from the cutoffs below, and leave a buffer for approvals and customs.

  4. Approve the sculpt and paint quickly

Most makers send progress photos for approval. Replying the same day keeps your spot in their queue.

  5. Ask for tracked shipping

And a box protector. Outside the maker's country, import fees are usually paid by the buyer on delivery.

How long it takes

There's no standard timeline. Ask the artist. Every custom is made to order: sculpted or taken from a model, printed, cleaned up, primed, hand-painted and boxed, usually with your approval at each stage. That takes weeks, and it depends on how many orders the maker already has.

  • Paint job on a model that already exists: usually the quickest kind of order.
  • A brand-new sculpt: adds design and approval rounds before anything is printed. Ask early.
  • Box, base and extras: each adds a step. Decide on them in your first message.
  • Shipping: on top of the making time. International parcels can also wait in customs.

Many makers book up before the holidays. A quick "is this date realistic?" in your first message saves everyone time. More on ordering in how to commission a custom Funko Pop.

What to say in your first message

Hi [maker]! I'd love a custom of [character] from [fandom] as a holiday gift.
It needs to arrive in [your country] by [date].

Is that date realistic for you? If so, could you tell me:
• your price and deposit
• a rough ship date
• which shipping service you'd use
Thank you!

Keep price, deposit, ship date and shipping service in the same message thread. Prices are set by each maker, so ask the artist rather than guessing from someone else's post.

Makers with commissions open 28 · status checked November 2, 2026

These makers had commissions marked open when we last checked. They're listed alphabetically; we don't rank makers. Status changes quickly in gift season, so message them to confirm, and ask the artist about timing and price.

If it's too late for the 25th

  • Order now, deliver later. Book the commission and give the approved sculpt or progress photo as the gift.
  • Give a 3D file. If they print, a Pop-style STL from an independent modeler arrives instantly. See custom Pop STL files.
  • Pick a character that's already been made. Ask a maker whether they can make another of a piece they've already finished; it can skip the sculpt stage.

FAQ

How long does a custom Funko Pop take to make?
Weeks, not days, and it depends on the maker's queue and on whether your character needs a new sculpt. There's no standard timeline, so ask the artist for a realistic ship date before you pay anything.
Is it too late to order a custom Pop for Christmas?
Not always, but it gets harder every week in November. Message makers now, say the date you need it by, and ask whether they can make it. If they can't, ask about ordering now for delivery after the holidays.
When is the last day to ship internationally for Christmas 2026?
From the US, USPS lists December 9 for Priority Mail International and First-Class Package International, and December 16 for Priority Mail Express International. Other carriers and countries differ; ask the maker which service they use.
How much does a rush custom cost?
Ask the artist. Some makers offer a rush option and many don't; each one sets their own price.
Is a custom Pop an official Funko product?
No. Customs are fan-made, Pop-style figures by independent artists. They aren't made, licensed or endorsed by Funko.

The Missing Pop is an independent fan directory. Not affiliated with Funko. "Funko" and "Pop!" are Funko's trademarks; the pieces here are fan-made, Pop-style customs by the credited artists.
